What does "Become an Affiliate Instructor" mean?
- You are an independent contractor;
- You must have a business license in the state you're working in
- You maintain your own place of business (mobile or home office)
- You set your availability. There is no minimum or maximum time commitment other than the work you agree to perform
- You maintain your own qualifications, licenses, and credentials, including continuing education, at your own expense
- You need your own insurance
- You pay your own taxes. (You may see certain tax benefits from owning a business and having a home office. We will attempt to point you in the right direction, but you must consult your own financial and legal resources.)
- You pay your own travel expenses
- You agree to abide by our terms of conduct and contractual relationship
- You provide proof of valid licenses and insurance during periodic renewal periods and upon request
- NWTC pays agreed-upon rates for specific courses and/or billable hours
- NWTC develops new business, promotes classes, provides specific equipment (may include a rental fee), handles customer invoicing and billing, receives your invoice for services, and pays out according to contract schedules
