Oregon Concealed Handgun License Training ($40)
This course of in-person instruction is taught by an NRA-Certified Pistol Instructor. The class is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours long and covers the following topics:
-4 Rules of Handgun Safety
-Considerations for Carrying Concealed
-Lawful self-defense, use of force (including deadly force) by private citizens
-Laws on carrying and concealing firearms in Oregon and awareness of jurisdictional differences
May attend consecutively with UT CWP class for discount (combined course is $80)

Utah Concealed Weapons Permit Training ($60)
The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally-recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
NRA Range Safety Officers must be 21 years of age or older. The Range Safety Officer course consists of:
- Range Safety Officer's roles and responsibilities
- Range standard operating procedures
- Range inspection and range rules
- Firearm stoppages and malfunctions
- Range Safety Briefings which include emergency procedures.

Candidates must also receive 90 percent or better on the written exam.
The Range Safety Officer course is a nine-hour course that consists of classroom time and practical exercises. Range Safety Officer candidates will receive the Range Safety Officer Student Packet.
Multi-State (OR/UT) Concealed Handgun Training ($80)
This course of in-person instruction is taught by an NRA-Certified Pistol Instructor. The in-person instruction follows the Utah Dept. of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification training curriculum.
All students will receive a copy of the training curriculum. The class is approximately 6 hours long and covers the following topics:
-Safe loading, unloading, storage, and carrying of firearms
-Lawful self-defense, use of force (including deadly force) by private citizens
-Laws on carrying and concealing firearms in Utah and awareness of jurisdictional differences
-Laws on carrying and concealing firearms in Oregon and awareness of jurisdictional differences
Options for adding ID photo and fingerprint services will be presented during check-out.

NRA Marksmanship Simulator Course (SimCo) $25
NRA Home Firearm Safety Course ($50)
This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have attained the knowledge, skills, and attitude for safely handling most types of firearms. This course covers requirements for safety training for the Oregon Concealed Handgun License application.

NRA Basic Pistol Course ($125)
The class is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

Note: A portion of this course involves Live Fire exercises and students are responsible for providing their own firearm and ammunition. Contact SW Washington Surplus prior to the course to make arrangements if you do not currently have at least 50 rounds of ammunition and firearm in safe operating condition.

NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home (Coming Soon!)
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.
Prerequisite: This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm). Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.
This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.
Lesson III of this course: Firearms and the Law, and Legal Aspects of Self-Defense, is conducted by an attorney licensed to practice law within the state in which this course is given and who is familiar with this area of the law, or a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) who possesses an intermediate or higher Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate granted within the state, or an individual currently certified to instruct in this area of the law by the state in which this course is presented. NRA Certified Instructors may conduct this lesson only if they meet the requirements stated above and then only in their capacity as an attorney, or other state certified individual not in their capacity as an NRA Certified Instructor.
One-on-One or Couples Handgun Coaching ($80)
This course of hands-on instruction is taught by an NRA-Certified Pistol Instructor. All students will have individualized training plans and training records. Specific coaching topics may include:
-Safe loading, unloading, and carrying of firearms (assistance with determining carry options)
-Methods and techniques for presentation of firearms (drawing from holsters or concealment)
-Diagnosis of common problems in technique with specific feedback to correct them
-Coaching on consistency and accuracy through fundamentals: hold control, breath control, trigger control, aiming and follow-through
-Laser-targeting SIRT (self-resetting trigger) simulator pistols for specific trigger control exercises
-Specific exercises assigned to further personal improvement goals through individual practice
-Malfunction drills
-Tactical reloads
-After-action drills
-Cleaning and maintaining your firearm (new shooters)
