NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course $250
The class is at least 15 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

Note: A portion of this course involves Live Fire exercises and requires a shooting pre-qualification: candidates are responsible for providing their own firearm and ammunition. A shooting pre-qualification test
90% or better on written Basic Pistol Student Examination
6 hr NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) must be completed prior to subject matter modules

Upon successful completion of the course and Pistol Shooting Pre-qualification, the instructor candidate will have attained the ability to TEACH the knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.
